This amazing achievement comes from a national evaluation by Adoption England, where ‘mystery shoppers’ posed as prospective adopters to assess how well adoption agencies across the country support families. These shoppers looked at everything from how welcoming and informative our team was, to how easy it was to find information, and how well we followed up.

Adoption England is a national organisation that works to improve adoption services across the UK, and their research was impressively thorough. Over the course of the project, 46 different agencies were contacted multiple times, with each enquiry tailored to reflect diverse backgrounds and experiences—ensuring fairness and inclusivity in the process.

So how did we do? The report praised Cumbria Adoption for being warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive, leaving a lasting impression on callers. Mystery shoppers praised the conversations had with our team for their friendliness, depth, and professionalism, so much so that the mystery shoppers expressed a strong desire to continue their adoption journey with us!
